1. Divemaster - First Step

PADI Divemaster Course
Begin your dive career - take the first step and become a PADI Divemaster. You may be eligible (after 40 logged dives) to start your PADI Divemaster training after you complete the PADI Rescue Diver course. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, you’ll expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level. Your confidence will grow with every breath.
As PADI Divemaster, you are qualified to supervise and assist with both training and non training dive activities, such as the PADI Discovery Local Diving experience, the Scuba Review program, the PADI Discover Snorkeling experience and the PADI Skin Diver Course. Also, after a short internship, you can conduct the confined water option of the Discover Scuba Diving program. And, you can teach the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider course and Digital Underwater Photographer course(after completing the appropriate Specialty Instructor course with our PADI Course Director).

3.1 PADI Assistant Instructor (AI)

PADI Assistant Instructor
The PADI Assistant Instructor course is the first portion of the IDC - and can be completed in as little as two days (After completing online independent Study). During the course, you gain experience and continue to learn the PADI System of diver education. PADI's AI Course gives you the necessary tools to finish the IDC in OWSI program.
As a PADI AI, you'll give classroom and confined water presentation and evaluate PADI Open Water Diver course surface skills (under direct supervision of a PADI Instructor). You can also teach some PADI specialty courses, conduct PADI Discover Scuba Diving experiences and PADI Seal Team AquaMissions.

3.2 PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI)

The rest of the IDC, the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor program, is the final step in your quest to become a PADI Instructor and can be completed in as little as three days. During the IDC you learn to manage and adapt the PADI system of diver education to individual student needs. As a PADI OWSI, you can conduct the entire range of PADI diver courses, from the entire range of PADI diver courses, from Discover Scuba Diving to Divemaster.
Your PADI OWSI rating sets you apart from the crowd. You earn the respect of both students and peers as you share your passion for diving and live the life you've dreamed about.

2. PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC)

PADI's Instructor Development Course (IDC) Acapulco
PADI's Instructor Development Course (IDC) is the heart of PADI Instructor training. During the course, you apply your diving knowledge and skills while learning to use the PADI system of diver education in the classroom and in the water.
The IDC is divided into two sections, the Assistant Instructor (AI) course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program. This approach allows you to split up the course into two blocks of time.

4. PADI Instructor Examination (IE)

After the IDC, PADI Instructor Candidates must attend and successfully complete a PADI Instructor Examination (IE). The IE is a two-day program in which candidates are evaluated on their diving knowledge, skills and ability to deliver teaching presentations in the classroom, confined water and open water settings.
IE's are conducted by PADI Instructor Examiners from one of PADI's international office to ensure an objective evaluation process and consistent quality worldwide.
